ABSTRACT

Mike leaves the room of the ISO External Audit briefing with mixed emotions; excited about how well the audit went, confused by people's lack of enthusiasm, and eager to contemplate what the differences are between the two systems and what in the world Square M's should do about it. Mike, an introvert by nature, starts to think about whether he needs to call a meeting about this topic and discuss it with everyone. His mind wanders 20back to the initial startup of the ISO system and how proud of it everyone seemed to be. While it is clearly communicated through the sales channels and in marketing that the company has this certification, he really isn't sure if it is a competitive advantage any longer. He doesn't care so much about whether it does or does not make a difference, but his curiosity has been aroused. Besides, these days everyone has this certification, so it doesn't provide much differentiation.
