ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 deals with working out the reasons for each shot and how it fits into an overall directorial concept. The chapter begins with how to read the script for all the details that will be asked of a director at the subsequent Planning Meeting and how to use the paperwork as a blueprint for starting to understand where the camera will need to be to shoot the project. Turning points in the script and making pictures of themes are explained.
