ABSTRACT

Whatever works, the theme from my previous book Secrets of Screen Acting, is explained, together with an analysis of how stage acting varies from screen acting. The various cheats necessary from actors in positions, vocal levels and expressions are amply noted, with the time codes of many examples from films and television dramas listed at the end of the chapter (this is also true of all other chapters). How to direct actors with minimal preparation time is examined, together with the Theory of Opposites and the concept of surprising truth.
