“If this were 2006, I would cut you guys a $100k line of credit in the room, but after the bust, there’s nothing I can do,” he said with a regretful smile. My partner and I were sitting in the lobby of the bank we had used for three years, and that I personally had used for a decade. We were in a cash crisis, billing well but waiting forever for clients to pay, and there was nothing he could do to help us through that to our next stage of growth.
