ABSTRACT

A 72-year-old woman was brought to hospital after slipping on a wet floor and hurting her right knee. She denied any chest pain, palpitations, headache, shortness of breath or generalised weakness prior to the fall. Her past medical history included atrial fibrillation and glaucoma. She had no known allergies and her regular medications were: 3 mg warfarin OD, bisoprolol 2.5 mg OD, and latanoprost eye drops – 2 drops in her right eye OD. She was a retired musician, lived alone and was fully independent. She did not drink alcohol and had never smoked.
