ABSTRACT
A 6-year-old boy was brought to his general practitioner by his parents after developing a fever and a sore throat. He had been feeling unwell for 2 days. His younger sister had experienced similar symptoms earlier. The patient had no past medical history, had no known drug allergies and did not take any regular medications. He lived with his parents and two siblings and attended the local school.
