ABSTRACT
A 28-year-old woman was admitted to hospital after becoming light-headed and short of breath when walking to work. She reported experiencing several episodes of light-headedness over recent days. The patient’s last menstrual period began 5 days earlier. Her past medical history included menorrhagia secondary to fibroids. Her only regular medication was the combined oral contraceptive pill.
