ABSTRACT
In the conclusion, the main objectives and findings of the book are listed. Prominent among these are (1) the demonstration of how our bottom-up data-driven corpus linguistic approach can help overcome some of the limitations of more traditional discourse analysis methods and therefore constitutes a versatile and powerful method for researchers interested in the study of political language (2) the finding that the rhetorical God gap is not a clearly defined polarity between an all religious GOP and a religiously voiceless Democratic Party but rather a complex patchwork of political and religious language. The conclusion also offers several avenues for future research.
