ABSTRACT

The first treatment Epper had in Switzerland was with Dr Thomas Hämmerli. He knew Jung, but it is unknown if this treatment was under Jung’s supervision. It is revealed that Hämmerli was the doctor who treated Jung for his heart attack in 1944 and appeared in one of Jung’s visions described in the book Memories, Dreams, Reflections. The treatment did not succeed and Epper and Reichstein went back to Holland. As Epper’s condition worsened, Reichstein brought her sister back to Switzerland, this time to be treated by Jung’s collaborator Maria Moltzer.
