ABSTRACT

The New York Accountants’ Law and the efforts to modify it have attracted the attention of British accountants, and of the periodicals which they support. In the last issue of the Accountants’ Magazine is a general review of the situation as seen from its point of view. If the title of Certified Public Accountant’ is to have any value in America it will only be by the safeguards originally provided for establishing and maintaining a high standard of efficiency being rigidly adhered to. In the April, number of the magazine a very full account was presented of the organization and first meeting of the Hartford Chapter of the Institute of Accounts. The annual meeting of the New York Chapter of the Institute of Accounts was held at the Waldorf-Astoria Thursday evening. Charles Dutton was re-elected president and W. P. Plant was reelected secretary. Thos. S. Whitbeck and A. O. Kittredge were chosen to fill vacancies in the Board of Governors.
