ABSTRACT
The author of a book always gets to say the last word. This is probably unfair to Castro (but fortunate for me), since his disputatious mind would surely find some plausible reply for each criticism I offer. However, my real purpose is not to debate Fidel but to balance his view of Cuba with my own observations, leaving it to the reader to remember that the last word in a book is not necessarily the last word on the subject.
