ABSTRACT
The plague of terrorism has become so pervasive in our times that it has taken on worldwide dimensions. The countries which support and promote terrorism provide directions and instructions to terrorists are unfortunately located primarily in the Middle East. The Red Brigades as well as a long list of other terrorist organizations from the extreme right to the extreme left in terms of their openly voiced ideological statements have been known to associate with each other, co-ordinate and co-operate in carrying out terrorist activities. The Middle East is an area where terrorism is rampant, and we do not have to search for the reason. The ability to package great force and deliver it with exacting accuracy in a relatively small weapon is characteristic of today’s armies, but this capability has unfortunately also fallen into the hands of small terrorist groups.
