ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author discusses some of the weapons and links between terrorist groups throughout the world are made based uupon weapons used. The issue of an international flow of weapons to terrorists is raised, he shows that the results of forensic bullet examinations done at the scenes of terrorist actions in Israel. In most instances materials forwarded to the Jerusalem police laboratory had been taking one or more weeks to be received for examination. Since the time factor in examinations related to counter-insurgency warfare is particularly critical, the author pressed the issue of opening the new field laboratory. After several visits to Southern Lebanon to access the situation, it further became obvious that much of the recovered materials had not been forwarded for examination. The prime reason for these visits was to prepare the physical building where the laboratory was to be located.
