ABSTRACT

Although intelligence services still recruit spies, electronics have completely revolutionized the game. Satellites whirl around our planet, photographing with amazing detail what goes on below them. They also collect electronic intelligence. On land, there are large dishes which pick up a variety of signals. Ships plow through the oceans loaded with electronic gear. Cables with hydrophones lie around the ocean bottoms. Electronic aircraft fly overhead, ready to pounce on enemy submarines in event of a conflict. Despite the facade of an area of low tensions, no one has exempted the nordic area from this struggle.
