ABSTRACT

Charlie and the dry dock Dewey arrive in Subic Bay together. While Dewey takes up its position near the tip of Rivera Point, Charlie takes up his position as a yeoman aboard the station ship, Mohican. Charlie accrues quickly many different clerical duties, due, in large part, to his extraordinary skill with the pen and his workaholic habits. The ship's office on Mohican has acquired a typewriter and Charlie sets off to teach himself how to use it, with the following letter the result. It runs to seven single spaced pages. As is characteristic of Charlie's work, the format and composition emerge flawless.
