ABSTRACT
There is no better way to learn what is happening in the West Bank than to examine everyday occurrences and conversations, for these reveal much about Israeli attitudes towards the Arabs. Even when soldiers are obeying orders, how they do things is telling, particularly since much is left to the discretion of the individual.
