ABSTRACT

Negotiation is a form of social interaction through which individuals, organizations and governments try to arrange their conflicting interests. In peaceful contacts between sovereign states, negotiations are the technique used to achieve some kind of official arrangement. There is growing interest in understanding the workings of negotiation processes for the obvious utility of making the outcomes of negotiations more predictable. The increased efforts to understand die theories of the negotiating processes are reflected in the growth of the literature of negotiations between states.
