ABSTRACT

Bemisia tabaci is widespread in the tropics and subtropics and seems to be on the move, having been recorded in recent years from many areas outside the previously known range of distribution. The whitefly has been reported as a greenhouse pest in several temperate countries in Europe, e.g. Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Besides in greenhouses, the species has been reported on outdoor plants in France and (one report) in Canada.
