ABSTRACT

Undergraduate students can usually complete their research for term papers using the resources of their own campus library. Few general collections are represented by published catalogs, but many specialized collections are, including the Schlesinger Library, the finest collection in the United States of printed sources and manuscripts on women's history. The main volume and supplements list books acquired by the Women's College Library from 1937 to 1955. In addition to books and periodicals, the library is rich in personal papers, family and organizational archives, newsletters, task force reports, microfilms, and oral histories. A catalog of books, periodicals, manuscripts, and pictures housed at the Schlesinger Library at Radcliffe -- one of the largest collections of source material on the history of American women from 1800 to the present. A collection may be restricted that is, inaccessible unless certain conditions, such as permission of the donor, are first met.
