ABSTRACT

The politics of agriculture has economic overtones and very real economic repercussions for the producer. Food is the primary need of all mankind. Efficiency in agricultural production has allowed portions of the labor force to enter industry, the arts, government, religion, and other human endeavor while depending on others to provide their daily requirements of food. The US has always held individual and religious liberty to be a right of all its citizens and has chosen to protect this liberty by establishing a democratic republic and by fostering the private ownership of land and other resources. The economic quality of life of agripolitician America is dependent upon agriculture - just as the economic quality of life of metropolitan America is dependent upon the central business district.
