ABSTRACT

Brother Marcel Dubois, visiting lecturer in philosophy at the Hebrew University, was willing to admit that technology has wrought great transformations in human life. Indeed, the possible apocalyptic impacts of technology have enormously extended man's responsibility. To Dubois, modern technological capabilities of doing harm to mankind require a "new morality of aspiration" to control technology. Yet this new morality demands a transcendent dimension that can only be found in ancient ethics and a spiritual philosophy.
