ABSTRACT
Although the Wunsch symposium included participants from the world of business and government, it was by and large a conference of academic intellectuals, representing many different fields of study. If our deliberations were to have any meaning beyond the event itself, we would have to communicate our concerns, our conclusions, and even our inconclusiveness to the rest of the world—especially to scientists and engineers and to decision makers in governments, educational institutions, and industrial corporations.
