ABSTRACT

The component in the evaluation process is a definition of the content and scope of the job. It seems so obvious that a clear understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a job is necessary to the successful completion of the evaluation process. There are a number of components in an evaluation program based upon performance of objectives. The tools, or materials and forms that may be used, should be kept as simple as possible in a good performance evaluation program. A useful way to identify needs is to regard them as areas to emphasize in order to attain the maximum degree of improvement in performance. Traditional evaluation plans put considerable emphasis upon the assessment of personality, temperament, and character traits. The evaluator may feel quite insecure in making an assessment that more validly could be in the domain of psychiatry than of school administration.
