ABSTRACT
Tools. We use them everyday for a variety of purposes: an automobile for transportation, a stove for cooking, a pen for writing. The list is practically endless, for humankind is often characterized as being the species of “tool users.” But there is a broad range of tools that only a small percentage of our society can use with any confidence and proficiency: reference tools. What they are and how you use them are the subject of this chapter.
