ABSTRACT
Philosophers and theologians have argued for ages about the creation of the universe. They have tried to prove the existence of a Creator, an extra-cosmic, intelligent Being who is the cause of this universe. The scientist who inquires into the nature of this universe does not rely solely upon his observations of sense. He invents instruments, the telescope, microscope, and so forth, in order that he may see behind and beyond the vision of the naked eye. Man in his ignorance clings to his limited consciousness and the surface life of his wakeful state. In Hindu mythology there is a story of Indra, king of the gods, who once became a pig and lived very happily in his sty with his family. Intense longing for God is one of the fundamental conditions for the vision of the Reality, and when God becomes revealed, the world-appearance disappears.
