ABSTRACT

Revelation means supersensory experience, and claim is made that there have been sages and prophets to whom such revelations were given. These revelations are recorded in the different scriptures of the world. There have been mystics in all ages, and there will be mystics in the ages to come. It is the mystic, the saint to whom God has revealed himself, that keeps the truth of the scriptures alive. Three steps have been given which lead to the attainment of revelation. First, one hears about the truth, from the scriptures and from an illumined soul in whom that truth has become revealed. The second step is to reason upon the truth. Through reason one gains understanding. The third step is meditation upon the truth. Every science has a method of its own. With the practice of these disciplines, the spiritual aspirant’s consciousness expands, and he becomes increasingly aware of the true nature of man and the universe.
