ABSTRACT
The theme of the Upanishads is the Knowledge of Brahman (Brahmavidya) and the Knowledge of Atman (Atmavidya). According to non-dualistic Vedanta, Brahman or the Absolute, and Atman or the embodied soul, which is the immortal element in man, bereft of all limitations superimposed by ajnana (nescience), are non-different.
