ABSTRACT

1–133 The prayers of Adam and Eve, inspired by Heaven, are heard in Heaven (–20), where the Son intercedes with the Father for them (–44). The Father accepts that, though man must leave Paradise, death shall be his way to new life, not his end (–71). The angels are summoned (–83) and God tells them of man’s penitence (–98). He commands Michael to go and dismiss them from the Garden, but to comfort them with a prophecy of the future (–125). Michael and the cherubim set out (–133).
