ABSTRACT

This final chapter examines how future developments in both the threat environment as well as emerging space system technologies will impact the design process and results in the future. Specific trends that can influence the design trades are highlighted and the sensitivities discussed. These include the cost of access to space (launch costs), the capability density per satellite, the amount of flexibility that can be embedded in the system, and the application of new capabilities such as artificial intelligence and on-orbit satellite servicing.
