ABSTRACT

As in Chapter 11, the readers are exposed in this chapter to another very common, robust and versatile software called ‘Matrix Laboratory’ commonly known as ‘MATLAB®’. It has been developed by MathWorks. It allows mathematical operations like matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, Fortran and Python. Although MATLAB is intended primarily for numerical computing, optional toolbox is also available in the package, which allows the user to perform optimization, both single as well as multiple. In this chapter, multi-objective optimization has been performed on the problem discussed in Chapter 11 only with two responses. The screenshot after every operation has been provided for easy understanding of the working of the software. It guides the readers by providing the problem to the software to obtain and analyse the results.
