ABSTRACT

In my opinion, this is a very valuable tool in training. I tend to organise supervisions in such a way that the groups are “mixed”, in the sense that young analysts can take part, bringing freshness and naiveté, alongside thoroughly trained analysts who bring experience and rigour, to their mutual benefit. I also bring together colleagues who work with adults, adolescents, and children, starting from the presupposition that the only differences between them will be terminological and that mental functioning is unitary (Ferro and Basile, 2009).
