ABSTRACT
The demand for a thorough understanding of the quality and performance of inhaler aerosol products has driven a revolution in inhaler design. Through the development and regulatory review of the product from production of active pharmaceutical ingredient, formulation, processing, device design, and commitment to quality and performance, assessment monitoring and control systems are required. In addition to considering the primary categories of inhaled pharmaceutical products, the patient interface and human factors involved in drug delivery must be considered. The contents of this book describe the foundation for the convergence of science, technology, electronics, and informatics that will drive a revolution in inhaled drug therapy.
