ABSTRACT

Coaches have to deal with a wide array of behaviors and personalities, some of which are more complicated than others, such as violent behavior or aggressive personalities. They can also be witnesses to workplace violence and have to respond to it. This chapter examines the issue of violence through two cases. We show the importance of understanding the reasons behind the violent behavior both at the level of the individual and the organization. And we discuss some approaches that can be helpful for coaches when dealing with violence.
