ABSTRACT
The rapid development of the internet in recent years has prompted the birth of various social networking services (SNSs) such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. A valuable feature of these SNSs is that they enable people to stay in contact with friends and family who are far away. However, real communities are built within physical boundaries. Conventional SNSs do not consider the geographical relationships which determine the majority of communities. We therefore developed a new SNS app called ANIMAP that takes into account the geographical relationships as well as the friendships between people. The aim of this app is to enable users to share information and opinions not only with friends and family but also their physical neighbors.
