ABSTRACT

Grey sculptures and color painting is a distinct decoration technique that was seen in the south China architecture during the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. The paper drew an instance from the large residential architectural Anzhen walled-village and analyzed the decoration of roof, walls, and grey sculptures, and the expression of the theme message, technical features, and colors, in a view to summarize the relation between the artistic style and the architecture.
