ABSTRACT

The article will start by studying the influence of early Taiwanese photography and how it affected western late modern art. This period of time could also be seen as a stepping stone for western contemporary art. I will also try to analyze to see whether these old Taiwanese photographs show any sign of Japanese influence/western contemporary photography or maybe even develop ed conceptual and experimental photos created under the influence of the early pictorial photography in samples of this article’s gallery. Lastly, through interviews, I can analyze these photographers’ diverse contexts to provide proof of their contribution and inspiration to Taiwan contemporary photography, and of course, see the development of this type of photography in a different light.
