ABSTRACT

This study used different types of line graphics on rotational forms, and its motion illusion and pattern performance, then observed the induced movement. Moreover, this study explored interactive and causal relationships among form performance element of motion form, motion illusion, and the reaction of induced movement. Experiments were conducted by adopting the method of adjustment derived from psychophysical methods. The research found that different line graphics and rotational speeds were influencing the formation and strength of phenomenon of line afterimage (PLA) and phenomenon of mixing afterimages (PMA), and they had causal relationships with absolute threshold (AT) in different line graphics. The straight line graphic produced the optimal effect of motion illusion and optimal perception of induced movement.
