ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the first and second law analyses of biogas operated hybrid cooling machine. The first law of thermodynamics deals with conservation of energy. The second law of thermodynamics helps to determine the maximum possible work that can be obtained from a process. Refrigeration/air-conditioning systems in the present time are the most important thermal systems which are required regularly and have also become the basic necessity. Industrial development has increased the demand of cooling systems. Energy consumption for cooling and space air-conditioning in both domestic and industrial sectors owing to the increased level of thermal comfort and a variety of applications constitutes a huge share across the globe. The biogas acts as an input energy to produce hot water which acts as an energy feed to the generator of the system without any compromise of temperature loss to the ambient.
