ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses obstacles preventing us from exploring our grandiosity, including shame for the grandeur of our ambitions, a distorted sense of altruism and humility, and fear of our limitations and of failure. The chapter invites us to become aware of our competing aspirations, so we can identify those that are worth pursuing, and those that are better left behind. To explore our grandiosity, the chapter discusses the value of emotions, journaling, introspection, psychotherapy, nighttime dreams, and experiences outside of our comfort zone, including any brush with death.
