ABSTRACT
Due to population explosion, basic necessities are increasing day by day with increasing waste generation. Currently, the waste management and disposal are a prime matter. Waste treatment techniques are available like incineration, landfilling, plasma gasification, waste to energy and so forth. All the available techniques have their limitations like air pollution because of waste transportation and odour generation from landfilling which also affects the workers. Hence, there is an urgent need for technique like zero waste management. Zero waste is a closed loop technique, where there is no disposal of waste or wastes are reduced and recycled at the source without disposal. This technique is like prevention is better than cure—if we reduce waste from source directly, this could remove the problem of waste generation. It is cheaper than other technologies available in the market like incineration, landfill, pyrolysis, gasification and so forth.
