ABSTRACT
Hydroponics is a simple, cost-effective and easily adoptable technology in small scale as well as large scale platforms. This technique of treating the canteen or kitchen wastewater has numerous benefits like easy treatment of wastewater and reuse of the treated water for various other domestic applications such as gardening and washing. Hydroponics technology has a very low operation and maintenance cost compared to commercial domestic wastewater treatment. The reactor can be also used as a garden for growing plants. This gives a better result in removing the various basic parameters such as TSS, TDS, TS, TKN and BOD.
