ABSTRACT

The project of the European Union (EU) is a brave step towards a better organised community in Europe. The British vote for ‘leave’ in the last referendum, Brexit, is a real threat to break the EU from further development. The European fear of development toward an EU ultra-structure is activating the Senex archetype and oppressing the Puer archetype. The continent Europe was named after Europa, the beautiful Phoenician princess seduced and abducted to Crete by Zeus in the form of white bull. Europa gave Zeus three children and got three presents from him: Talos, the bronze giant whose mission was to guard the shores of Europe in Crete; Laelaps, the swift dog; and the Javelin, both never missed a hunting, three powerful phallic symbols. A different way to look at the dynamics of European culture is by using the Jungian Archetypes of Senex and Puer.
