ABSTRACT

Chapter 6 introduces the stages of ‘Exposition’ or else the conveyance of the comprehension and deductions derived from the ‘Conceptualisation’ process. Starting with the basic definitions of ‘plot’ and ‘event,’ it places the fictional character in the interchanging game board of storytelling in order to demonstrate how the author’s understanding and knowledge of her creation renders her choices and actions as the instigating forces rolling the dice and defining movement along the way.

From the particulars of each character’s role and function to the completion of character arc, the author describes the character’s fictional journey within the narrative, scrutinising how she acts, interacts, retreats and grows through her interactions with other characters and plot stimuli.
