ABSTRACT
This essay revisits the concept of theopoetics as a divine becoming human and human becoming divine. It develops an “anatheist” reading of poetic re-creation (God after God) in terms of theopoetic imagination in Western philosophy, literature and culture. It then applies this hermeneutic reading to the contemporary artwork of Sheila Gallagher.
