ABSTRACT
As discussed in Chapter 10, apart from in-plant recovery within a single resource conservation network (RCN), material recovery can also be carried out across different plants/processes/sections of a plant through inter-plant resource conservation networks (IPRCNs). In addition to recovering material from process sinks and sources of different RCNs through direct integration scheme, different RCNs may also be integrated indirectly through a centralized utility facility (CUF). Automated targeting model (ATM) developed for single RCN in the previous chapters is extended for use in both direct and indirect integration schemes of IPRCNs in this chapter.
