ABSTRACT
Most internationally-renowned design codes for bridges have implemented limit state concepts including AASHTO and Eurocode. Since the first bridge design code was introduced in 1962 in Korea, regular revisions have been made in accordance with new social and technological needs. However, to meet with global standard, state-of-art technology and fastchanging local environments, new bridge design code is being developed based on reliability or limit states design concept.
