Sum-Free Games

I n these games, two players, Alice and Bob, alternately place num­

bers in numeric order from { 1 , 2 , 3 . . . , 8} into one of two columns, C\

or C 2 . They try to maintain the sum-free status by keeping the three

number combinations from occurring in one column. I n this game, a

player loses if, after moving, two numbers add to a third in one column.
