ABSTRACT

Machine learning promises to play a prominent role in helping game AI scale up to more complex game worlds. But to date machine learning has only been used sporadically in computer games, so this chapter is therefore more speculative than the others. It is also more technically challenging, but by the end you should at least have gained some important intuitions. As usual, plenty of references are provided to help you follow up on any topics of interest.
