ABSTRACT
Musical sounds, when recorded, can be represented as an audio waveform (see Figure 2.1). A waveform depicts the vibrations, that is, changes in air pressure over time. Waveforms are at the core of how musical (and other) sounds get generated, captured, and transported through dierent natural and electronic media.
