ABSTRACT
For centuries tobacco has been one of the most important cash crops, both the tobacco growers and tobacco processors (companies) amassed billions of dollars at the cost of consumers’ health. Recently when people became informed of the tobacco related health hazards, it was diffi cult to quit tobacco use as people became addict to it. Even for quitting tobacco smoking/chewing/sniffi ng, scientists had to put a lot of effort which is still on. At the same time, scientists are using this model plant for the production of antibodies and vaccines for such important diseases as HIV, hepatitis, and cervical/breast/colorectal cancers. This discovery is still on, and in this chapter, attempt has been made to assemble such pieces of information at one place in the hope to assist in better research planning and informatics.
